found a job!
Well Folks-
I have to say “So long”,shortly, due to the fact a ship awaits!
I accepted a 90-day assignment aboard the M/V Ocean Titan which is operated by Pacific-Gulf Marine. This is my first “Union” job as I called the Union Dispatcher directly to get this job.
The ship is known as a heavy-lift ship and is capable of lifting 200 tons per crane or 400 tons if the cranes are paired-up.
Although I just completed two weeks of training in Florida, at the Union whereby I received my certificate to work aboard oil tankers- this ship IS NOT A TANKER.
It’s intended travels will send me East and thru the Med and beyond. I hear The Persian Gulf and then Singapore are among the ports to be visited.
Along with this travel, I will attempt to continue to write my e-Journals which are called “The Merchant Marine Express”. Many of you have asked if I will continue. I should be able as time allows. I believe this will be Volume 4. I will know, once I am aboard, If I have full email access. Most ships these days do! I leave around the 30th of May.
Until then..have a great Memorial-Day Weekend!
