Looking for a ship…

Hi Folks!
I was just called by the union for a company which had a position on board an oil tanker available to work a short “relief” job starting on Sunday and asked if I wanted the job! Would you believe- only three days after being informed of the position, I was on a plane heading for the port!

After weeks of looking for a sea-going job and registering out of the Union, A coordinator from Seabulk International called me asking if I would like a spot on the M/V SEABULK POWER knowing I needed some ’sea time’ to qualify for the Person-In-Charge (PIC) Certificate.Of course, I said “sure” as they only need me for only a month or so as a Third Mate. I fly out on Sunday to Port Charles, Louisiana onboard this 660 ft. Product-tanker. The tanker is capable of carrying 260,000 Barrels (42 gallons/barrel measured) of petroleum based liquids. The ship will be transiting the Gulf Of Mexico between places like Florida and Louisiana! Also, this trip will secure ’sea time’ for my endorsement to work aboard tankers. When I have time I will try and send out a Merchant Marine Express. Hmm..what volume am I on? 5 ?
Have a great day!!
