Picking up yet another load of Cargo

At Sea, En route to Lake Charles, LA

We’ve managed to settle into a schedule of loading and unloading which seems routine. The only thing that has not become a comfort issue is the lack of sea time, which, at only two days of underway time separate cargo ports. A mariner loves being at sea, and cargo operations signify when one truly puts their efforts into ‘working’. But work means money for the company, and having liquids flow through pipes is what our job entails.

Enroute to Tampa,FL

Just a quick note. We’ve managed to load up on a combination of cargo to include Premium Unleaded, Regular Unleaded, Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel, and JP-5 Jet Fuel and now we’re in queue to deliver later today. Taking over the run from the sister ship, the Chemical Trader, our normal trade is now between Lake Charles, LA. And Tampa, Fl. News has it, that the Chemical Trader was chosen to switch to grain and will be headed out to Africa to deliver there bulk commodity. We shall continue between ports from here on.

We’ve been underway since 6pm last night. Both Third Mate, Travis, and myself Are alternating 6-Hour Watches as 2nd Mate Gary is assisting on deck during the hours of 0800- 1600. I am standing the 0600-1200 hour and 1800-2400 hour Watch, respectively. The AB’s on watch are a bit confused as to whom to wake up, and at what time, since this watch rotation isn’t normal.
